Why Italy
Studying in Italy: the basics
Italy has a large public university system with historic universities, strong engineering and design schools, and tuition at public universities that is usually linked to family income. Many Master’s programmes are taught in English. Regional right-to-study bodies award need-based scholarships, and several universities and the government offer merit awards.
Admission usually combines your academic record, a language certificate and, for some courses, an entrance test such as the IMAT (medicine in English) or the CISIA TOLC tests (for example TOLC-I for engineering). Students then apply for a study visa and show proof of means. The tools above cover the money, marks and test-preparation parts of that journey.
How we keep this honest. Every figure comes from an official source, a university page or published guidance, and shows when we last checked it (October 2026). Estimates are not official decisions and the mock tests do not predict your rank or cut-offs. Always confirm with the university, the regional body and the consulate.

They come from official pages, university guidance and embassy checklists, and each tool shows when it was last checked (October 2026). Estimates such as the ISEE are indicative, and the official decision always comes from the university, regional body or consulate.

It depends on the course. Medicine and surgery in English uses the IMAT, many engineering and science courses use CISIA’s TOLC tests, and other courses use their own tests or only evaluate your documents. Check each programme’s admission page.
